Join us for a free virtual series, where our Kindergarten team will guide you through everything you need to know about starting Kindergarten at the »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ District School Board. Transition to Kindergarten: Supporting Big Emotions

The transition to Kindergarten is an exciting time and a big step that can bring a range of emotions for both children and families. Join members of KPR’s Mental Health Team as they explore big feelings, and common behaviours to expect as children adjust to a new environment, relationships and routines. The session will focus on ideas and positive coping strategies to support a successful school journey!

Promoting Early Mathematics at Home

Time: 6:30pm - 7:15 pm 

Are you curious about mathematics learning in Kindergarten? This virtual session is intended for families of children who will be starting Kindergarten this September, or families of current Kindergarten students.  Join us as we discuss fun and engaging ways to introduce math concepts through daily activities. Gain insights on fostering a positive attitude towards math in early years and get tips on effective communication strategies to support your child’s math development at home.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten 

Date: February 21, 2024
Time: 6:30pm - 7:15pm 

In our first virtual information session, we explored a typical day in the life of Kindergarten, student transportation, before and after school programs, and how you and your family can help get ready for Kindergarten at home! The session also included an overview of the foundational elements of the Kindergarten program, including: intentional, play-based learning and the Four Frames that guide everyday learning.

Promoting Early Literacy at Home

Date: April 16, 2024
Time: 6:30pm - 7:15pm 

Are you curious about literacy learning in Kindergarten? This online session is intended for families of children who will be starting Kindergarten this September, or families of current Kindergarten students.  Join us as we offer ideas and information to promote early literacy development at school and home through conversations, play, storytelling and more!
